Hug a tree

Hug a tree

Have you heard of tree hugging?

As if we didn't love our earth before - here's another phenomenon that I would like to share with you and that is literally one of the best activities I can imagine: tree hugging! It's outdoors, anyone can join in, it's healthy, safe and, if those weren't enough benefits (imagine me saying that in the voice of Chandler Bing), it's free!

Seriously, if you haven't started yet, do it now! Google it if you don't believe me, it's a real thing and so good for you. Do you need a hug that is safe but comforting? Go hug a tree. Do you want to spice up your boring daily walk? Go hug a tree. Do you feel stressed and nothing really helps? Go hug a tree. Just really bored? ... Exactly.

Here's why tree hugging is GOOD FOR US:

Especially in these difficult times, we need hugs more than ever. How does it work? Well, you may have heard of the love hormone oxytocin. It is said that tree hugging increases the levels of this particular hormone, allowing us to benefit from all its positive effects.

We are officially tree lovers:

We love celebrating special occasions like Earth Day, World Environment Day and many more! It is crucial that these days receive more and more attention, especially on social media, and we believe that as a brand with a growing reach, it is our responsibility to help promote, protect and preserve our environment whenever we can. This April we were able to plant 266 trees together with the Treedom organization. And so far I can tell you: there are even more exciting things to come!

Every day is a good day to hug a tree.

Do you know what would really make me happy? Seeing pictures of you hugging trees! Take a photo hugging a tree outside and don't forget to tag it #pureleitreehuggers. I am a big fan of tree hugging and have been doing it since I was a child. It's such a wonderful feeling of relaxation, and while your hands are busy hugging the tree, you'll also be distracted by your phone - even if just for a few seconds.

Want to read more about the benefits of being outside? Let me know by commenting on this post! I look forward to hearing from you and stay safe until social distancing is over and we can get back to real hugs.

Best regards,

Lauri
