Female power at PURELEI: Get to know Alisa

Courage, passion and community - Alisa about her vision for PURELEI and female empowerment

On International Women's Day we are talking to inspiring women from the PURELEI team. Today, Alisa, co-founder of the company, gives us an insight into her journey - from founding PURELEI to the challenge of balancing career and motherhood. A conversation about enthusiasm, growth and the power to surpass yourself. Get inspired!

Introduce yourself to us, who are you and what do you do at PURELEI?

Aloha, I'm Alisa, I'm co-founder of PURELEI. We founded PURELEI in 2016, but what have I been doing since then? I think I've been through every role at PURELEI, and currently I'm still firmly anchored in the brand and moving things forward. That's also what's close to my heart.

What inspires you most every day?

Since becoming a mother, my children have inspired me every day. Also the people I have around me. So at work, at PURELEI, but also in private life. They give me things that allow me to learn a little bit every day and become a little better. I believe that if you are looking for inspiration, you can easily find it in your everyday life.

How would you like to inspire other women?

I want to inspire other women to be brave. Daring something means having the courage to do something without knowing what the outcome will be. For me it was when I found out I was going to be a mother. At the same time, I knew my first baby was PURELEI and I had to combine it somehow. I had to be really brave to be ready for that. This works very well for me. Especially on this topic, I would like to inspire other women not to let go of their dreams, but to fight and stand up for the fact that they can combine their dreams as best as possible.

Which woman particularly influenced or inspired you?

This also comes very much from your own mother, what you were given as a child. I notice more and more how similar I am to her. But I am also inspired by the encounters I have in everyday life. Here I meet women and think: Wow! So exciting! I want to learn everything you know from you. Women who dare, who are willing to leave their comfort zone, that inspires me.

What is your superpower?

My superpower is my enthusiasm for something and the fact that I can create enthusiasm for something by talking about things that are close to my heart.

What does World Women’s Day mean to you?

There are a lot of historical topics here that are super important and relevant. But the day itself doesn't have the greatest meaning for me personally. It's more about creating awareness for the topic throughout the month. We at PURELEI, we live this. We are 80% women at PURELEI who empower each other and are great role models. That's why for us it's not just an issue that we focus on this one day. We live this and radiate it to the outside world. Nevertheless, I think it's great that this day exists. It has its relevance and importance so that we and others pay extra attention to this topic.

What does empowerment mean to you?

For me, empowerment means that you live it in everyday life. It starts with the smallest things and ends with bigger things. It means that you have people around you who always challenge you in a positive way and you can always learn something new that pushes you to be courageous.

What do friendships between women mean to you?

A certain calmness and flexibility. I have friendships that span years and that doesn't mean I have to check in every day or every week. Some of them live far away and we don't always see each other. But when we see each other, it's like we just saw each other last week. These are such valuable friendships for me. They know my whole life story and I don't have to start over again and when we see each other everything will be the same as it was back then. This is so valuable to me. I think there is also something special between women, a close connection that can arise that is particularly valuable. The older I get, the more important these friendships become to me, which have been so close and connected since I was a child.

How do you define female strength?

Dare to do something, be brave, even if you don't know what the outcome will be, still have the courage to carry others along, empower them and all of this with a certain flexibility. You don't always need the perfect plan, just this I'll do it now, I'll have the courage and see what comes out of it and I'll see the positive thing.

What does Together, We Grow mean to you?

Being together, challenging each other and growing together. Maybe you made the wrong decision, but you know what you can learn from it. When you do that in a group, especially in a group of women, growing together and learning, that's Together, We Grow.
